My Cleveland trip - I miss Andy already...

Just got back today from Cleveland around 5pm, very sad to leave Andy... It was suppose to be a surprise trip for Andy, but he figures it out on Thurs night before I got there. He says I gave away a few clues, but it's necessary to ask him certain things. First, I gotta ask if he is going out to dinner with anyone, I don't want to wait at his apartment lobby, that will be sad. Second, I guess I kept slipping up and say I will see you soon :P But it's good that he figure it out, too, because he came and pick me up from the airport. He says if I take the taxi, it's very likely I will end up in Indianapolis or something, hehe....

I pretty much just did nothing on Sunday and part of today. I was actually a bit productive on Saturaday, did some research for my journal club paper presentation, very proud of myself :) Hopefully I won't get grilled too much by people, hmmm..... I hope I didn't disturbe Andy too much this weekend as he prepares for USMLE step 1....

Miss Andy a lot already....

updates

Ok, so upon Christine's request, I am going to update about my nothing-is-happening life. Ok, maybe not totally nothing. I found out today that my good friend Brendan, whom I met in Boston, got into Georgetown Medical School! So congratulation to him! He is one of the hardest studier (is this a word?) I know. Back in Harvard library, we dedicate a shrine to him on his usual spot :P He says he will make another one in Gtown now :)

I also finally made my flight reservation to my friend Mridula's wedding in Kingsport! I am so proud of myself :) I can't wait to see everyone there, too bad Tia can't make it, but I will go bug her in chicago soon anyway.

Finally, still trying to find a common free schedule between Christine and I so we can go some place fun. Christine, Bonnie says she is probably going to Vegas in the end of June, interested? Let me know, and anyone else want to go?

I can't separate paragraph on blog entry

Ahhhh, why is that whenever I press enter when I am writing on a blog entry to separate paragraph that it doesn't work? I sometimes end up with long blog post that's hard to read, help! Also, Christine, I been leaving comments on your post but it always say there is 0 comments but the comments is there if you press on it. This blog thing is getting hard!

Lavender Festival in Texas

After finding out there is a Lavender Festival 4 hours from Houston, my family and I decided to go there on Saturaday. After went into work briefly during the morning, we set out to Beckers Vineyard around 12pm. I felt asleep shortly in the car and wake up when my parents are looking at the map. Thinking back, I should have look up direction but I just keep thinking it's close to San Antonio and I can wait until I am close to San Antonio before I have to look at firections :P It turns out that the Vineyard it's close to Austin and we should have taken another highway. After consulting the map, mom figures out a way to get there but we got on a highway loop without knowing it and end up making a big circle!

So after driving for 5 hours, we finally arrived at our destination, Stonewall, TX. The vineyard building is beautiful and the place is packed with vendor and people. We went into the main lobby and right away we were offered wine. And ofcourse, Yi got carded again :P I didn't, but that's probably because I am with my parents, hehe....

Ok, and I will have to advertise for Beckers Vineyard's wine, especially the Texas Port, it's a sweet red one with great taste, my whole family love it. I also like like their Sauvergnon reserve, it's very nice, too. We end up buying 8 bottles of wine even though our intention is to see the Lavender field :P

And that bring up another sad fact, as it turns out, Lavender is just not blooming this past weekend, so sad.... and the field is quiet small compare to the one I saw before in Hokkaido, Japan. I guess compare to Hokkaido & Providence, Texas is too hot to grow Lavender. I was also trying to get Lavender product for Christine, but most of the stuff is generic brand you can get anywhere, that's also sad, too.... The only thing that's unique is the Lavender Chocalate, but it's only sold by the chef who left ~2pm.... so, no lavender for christine and I... :(

And after that, we drove to San Antonio and went to Riverwalk for a nice and fun dinner. I will write more of my weekend, for now, gotta go work!

Lavender Festival!

As many of you know, I like lavender (the flower, the color, the smell & taste!). So when Bonbon called me yesteraday and told me there is a Lavender Festival in Seattle, I got really excited :) It's on July 15-18th in Sequin (ok, so not exactly in Seattle, but close). Anyone else might want to go? You can read more about it on www.lavenderfestival.com. It will be so much fun!

Mridula & Jesse's wedding

Just found out Jesse's brother made an website for Mridu & Jesse's wedding :) www.mridulajesse.com. It's very cute and I love the artwrok/photo on it. Definetly looking forward to the wedding. Gotta go get ticket soon....

I overslept again!

Ahhhh, I overslept this morning again. Ok, just to make things clear, I didn't oversleep at home on my bed. I always wake up at 5:35am to catch my bus at 6:25am. But it's when I am taking my nap on the bus that I overslept three times in the past two weeks. I set my cell phone alarm and used to hear it just fine. But recently I find myself waking up 4 stops after my regular one. It's no big deal, because the later stop is just tht other entrance of the hospital, I can still get to my lab. But still.... why oh why am I oversleeping so much. Lack of sleep is not the reason, since I am always lack on sleep, since college... any other suggestion?

Happy Mother's Day!

Tuesday (May 10th) was my older sister's Birthday. And since we couldn't go out to celebrate on Sunday for Mother's Day due to severe thunderstorm in Houston, my family decided to combine the two and went out on Tuesday to Truluck for dinner. http://www.trulucks.com/ The seafood is great there, especially stone crab claws. So anyway, after dinner I went to the restroom and when I came out, there was little cute 10 years old boy going into men's room. He was smiling and all that, so I said hi. And right before I step back into the restaurant area, he turn around and said "Happy Mother's Day!" I know he is a 10 year old boy and probably all women who is over 18 is old to him... but still.... :( Do I look that motherly??? So sad...

Rightful owner of the finger

Did you guys read about the story of a piece of the finger found in ice cream? http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/05/02/custard.finger.ap/index.html At first I was shock that this happened but at least that the store immediately admit that an accident happened and state health department is investigating. But I was later enrage by what the guy who found the finger did! http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/05/06/finger.fight.ap/index.html I mean, I know it's horrifying to find a finger tip in your ice cream, but when there are a chance of the poor guy who got his finger severed to has it reattched, you NEED to give it back. Now I think the employee who lost his finger tip should sue this guy, I totally will... This guy really sucks, he just want money...

Phantom of the Opera poster :) Posted by Hello

Phantom of the Opera

I just finished watching "The Phantom of the Opera" movie. It's very nicely done with great stage setting and music. And Gerald Butler is great as the Phantom. Emmy Rosslum is a bit young to play Christine, sometime it shows, but mostly it ok. I really want to find my Phantom CD now, I had in college and loved it. Bonbon, Terry, Liaw, if you guys are reading this, you remembered how crazy we were about the musical :P Remember Pin used to say that he is the Phantom of the Fox (Wash U's theater). Really want to go see the musical in July here in Houston now, anyone wants to go????

Grey's Anatomy

I miss the episode from two Sundays ago, so I got a big surprise when I watch the new one this past Sunday. Christine (Sandra Oh) and the lead attending surgeon hook up! I was recovering from the shock yesteraday at work when my boss, Elsa and I start to talk about it. She points out something that's very interesting - that TV series lovers usually group by white and non-white. There is always a golden couple that's white, then all the other minorities date each other. Her example is froom ER, when earlier there is this asian women who dated a black doctor. and now there is chemistry between the indian girl and another black doctor. sorry, I don't know their names... anyway, does anyone else notice that?
