Defense mechanism

Ok, after killing 2 pen + 1 highlighter in one month, I stopped and think about my studying habit a bit. I think my increase appetite during study time might be purely because my brain need glucose to think/store information, it's probably also that I use eating as a defense mechanism - so I have time to rest and get away from my studying. :P

Student's Elbow

Ok, so most of us knows about tennis elbow, which in medical term, it's lateral epicondylitis. This is due to the repeated forceful extension of the wrist as in a backhand stroke which result in pain and point tenderness at the insertion of the common tendon of the superficial extensors of the forearm on the lateral epicondyle.

But do you know there is a student's elbow? Which is the inflammation of the olecranon bursa caused by the repeated excessive rubbing or fiction of the elbow on desk top.

Ok, enough of medical terms for everyone, it's time for me to go back to studying for my anatomy exam on Tuesday!

In Touch With Teens

I am participating in "In Touch With Teens" program through my community project. And I went to my 5 hours orientation today (very long!) and learn several interesting things.

(1) It's a misdemeanor to call someone more than 10 times a day in CA.
(2) You don't really go to jail for domestic violence.
(3) A bit more than 1/4 of relationship has some type of abuse (emotional or physical).

More on this later, gotta go back to study genetics and biochem for my quiz. Yikes!

Power Yoga

I did power yoga for the first time in about 3 years by following a DVD I rented. What I found out about myself is that I am not too flexible, doesn't balance too well and faily weak in my arm and abs. But I try hard and follow through the 1 hour practice and feel pretty good. I think I will try again tomorrow or Wed to keep up with it :)
