96 hours after the cold burn Posted by Hello

congraDulation

I was helping Lucy writing a card to one of her friends two nights ago about getting a new job when I tried to correct her about how to spell congraDulation. She told me that the category of the ecard belong to congraTulation. I was really confused since I always spell the word with a D. When I talked to Andy later that night, I asked him to spell the word for me. Andy then told me that he knows all along that I always spell it wrong! :P So all the cards I wrote in the past 12 years probably all have that mistake! This is very embarrasing as you would think I will pick up on my mistake a long time ago. Well, I guess it's like how I always spell Christine's name wrong in high school (for 3 years I spell it like Christein) until she correct me on our graduation book signing I think. I don't think I will ever enter a spelling bee :P

Cryogenic Burn

Hmmm, I was developing my radioactive film this morning. So I took the cassettes that contains the film out from the -80 degree freezer and carried them over to the dark room. On the way there, the cassettes slide a bit and lean against my upper left arm for about 2-3 seconds. I didn't think much of it since it didn't hurt and proceed to develop the film. About 10 minutes later, I noticed there is a pink bump on my arm and it sort of itches. It was then my labmate, Nathan, told me that I have a cold burn (or cryogenic burn as the professional term). I was lucky in that the first aid box we recieved from the department last weekend has burn cream. So I put a bunch on. The picture above is taken approximately 12 hours after the burn. I might go see Employee Health doctor tomorrow if there are blisters or if it hurts a lot. I need to be more careful...

The Blessed Thorn 15

Lynn just wrote me this morning and told me that she got into Drexel University School of Medicine, congradulation to her!!! She also brought it to my attention that all five Thorn 15 divas are going to be Doctors :) Anette is already a doctor, so she is ahead of us. I think Thorn 15 is probably a blessed place, maybe I will recommend my friend to pay pilgrimage there. It will be like a holy site :)

Nyrobee

I talked to Diana last night, it's so good to catch up with friend. I hope she get into UIC! But that also mean I won't get Nyrobee for 4 years then :( But I think I rather have Diana close by to visit and then I can also see Nyrobee a lot! Bubu (Nyrobee's nickname) is seriously funny yesteraday, she was sleeping on this little couch (kind of the type people rest their feet on when sitting on couch) and she roll around and fell off! Diana told that Bubu looks really confused, poor kitty... I can't wait until the next time I see Diana and Bubu...

Sahara

Ok, went to see Sahara with Tracy on Friday (Yeah, finally got to see Tracy!, it's quiet hard to find a free weekend between us among family visit, exam, experiment, etc). The movie is really good, but surprisingly not because of Matthew McConaughey or Penelope Cruz (not a fan of her anyway). The movie is really good because of the side kick Al (Steve Zhan). Al is the funny sidekick that has the best punch line. Since he seems familiar, I checked it out when I came home and find out he was in National Security with Martin Lawrens. I recommend anyone who wants a good laugh and like action film to go see this movie :) really wanna to see it agian right now....

My blog page

I noticed yesteraday that my blog page doesn't look right on some computers (Andy and Lucy's) - there is a big gap from the top of the page to my first post. But this doesn't happen on my work computer or my mom's computer. I don't know how to fix this problem..... is it a browser setting problem?...

Grey's Anatomy

This my new favorite show on ABC (Sunday night at 9pm central time). It talks about 7 surgery interns starting their first day at Seattle General Hospital. It's interesting to watch how these people felt when they are been called Doctor but still feel insecure and not knowing much. It also makes me nervous about how will I perform four years from now when I finish medical school. Scary... it definetly makes me want to study harder and get as many hands on experience as possible before I leave medical school :)

Texans take cheerleading really seriously!

I guess I already know this since junior high school :P But this is the first time anyone higher in rank than school president is taking notice of cheerleaders. http://www.slate.com/id/2116060/?GT1=6334. I should have tried out for cheerleader I guess, as the article says that cheerleaders represent "captain-of-industry model" :P

Hi my friends,

I got this request to vote for a friend of a friend, so her fiance, who has a brain tumor and is gradually losing his visions, can see the beautiful make-over bride (Melissa Bussey) on their wedding day :)

"Two of my classmates (Matt and Melissa) are getting marred this summer and they
are 1 of 3 finalists in the Q-tips get gorgeous for you wedding contest. The winner is chosen by the number of votes they get online. It takes 2 minutes!

Their story is heartbreaking...and they really deserve

My trainer got a black eye

I went to work out today with my trainer - DJ, and saw a black eye on her. She told me that when she went out with friends on Thurs night to Moe's (have no idea where that is), some chick punched her. The reason of the violent female is that supposely DJ give her (and her friends)dirty looks. Yikes... when did people become so sensitive about what other people think, and if anything, I really don't think violence is the way to go... anyway, does anyone knows a good way for black eye to go away quickly other than makeup?
